Local Food Affair
July 21, 2014
With the summer months peaking, there is an abundance of produce grown in the Sea-to-Sky corridor at Olives! Thank you for choosing to support our local growers. Our food choices have a direct impact on our environment. Choosing organic food makes a clear statement that we want healthy food and a healthy planet. The more we say ‘yes’ to organic, the faster we can clean the toxic pesticides and chemical fertilizers out of our bodies and out of our precious water resources. Saying ‘yes’ to organic means supporting agricultural methods that regenerate fertile soil, so we can rebuild our cells with all of the nutrients and minerals we need to function at 110%.
For me, preserving our ecosystem is of primary importance. The beautiful environment that surrounds us is one of the main reasons I have chosen to remain in Whistler. So whether you are choosing organic for health reasons, for environmental reasons, or both, thank you!
Current local produce:
All lettuce, kale, chard, collard greens, Napa cabbage, beet bunches, fennel and broccoli brought to you by Laughing Crow Organics and Rootdown Farm.
Organic BC fruit includes cherries, blueberries, apricots and peaches with Squamish goodies including garlic and carrot bunches (soon!).
Find ten more reasons to go organic at Healthy Food Eating Tips.
There are two videos of hope that I would like to share with you. I watch them any time I delve too deeply into the news of current affairs. Everything we do on this planet, we do also to ourselves. Every small action you take has an impact. Lettuce change our stories . . . and create a thriving, healthy, happy and loving world that we all know is possible. Keep creating,
Peace and love.
