Gort’s Gouda Cheese Farm produces cheese and milk containing only natural ingredients with no preservatives added. The cheeses are made from milk produced by cows on their farm in Salmon Arm, BC. Gort’s cows are grass-fed only; no grain is fed to them and they graze on pastures from May to October and are given organic hay in the winter months. Because of this, their milk contains as much as 6 times CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) than grain-fed cows. CLA is an Omega 6 Fatty Acid that helps in disease protection and muscle growth. Grass-fed milk contains higher levels of Beta-carotene, Vitamin A, and Vitamin E.
Gort’s grass-fed-only whole milk is non-homogenized, which means the fat globules are not broken down, but rise to the top to form cream. This is milk in its most natural form. It’s smoother and has more flavour. Non-homogenized milk allows our bodies to easily absorb and utilize the vitamins and minerals in milk i.e. vitamins A, D and calcium.
Gort’s milk is right from the cow, to the bottle, to you.
Gort’s milk doesn’t sit on a shelf or remain in transit for weeks. No matter what kind of milk you buy, it will start to go bad at the same rate once opened and equally exposed to air, so why not buy fresh, local, grass-fed milk? Good milk starts with cows who graze outside and are housed in a large, clean and comfortable barn. They are also free from antibiotics and synthetic hormones.
